The Tall Faces are a three-piece powerhouse of musical muscle specialising in British Mod Sounds of the 1960’s with a fast-paced set of mod, soul, r ’n' b and northern soul. This dynamic trio comprise of Chris on vocals and stand-up cocktail drum kit, Chris on guitar and vocals and Rick on bass and vocals. The Tall Faces have honed their craft focussing on melody and harmony so expect to hear one of the tightest bands around.

Their love for the 1960’s is evident in their choice of great covers from classic artists - The Kinks, The Who, Small Faces, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Spencer Davies Group, The Hollies, The Dave Clark 5 and many more.

The Tall Faces will also be joined by guest vocalists throughout their set including local rock ’n’ roll legend Pete Maclaine who along with his band, The Clan, were regulars on the Stockport gigging circuit in the 80’s, 90’s and noughties with long-running residences in the pubs in Stockport Market including The Boar’s Head and Bull’s Head.

In the 1960’s, Pete Maclaine and The Dakotas were the first band from outside of Liverpool to play at the legendary Cavern club and Pete regularly played on the same bill as The Beatles and many other famous sixties’ bands which lead to Pete being signed to Decca Records. Pete Maclaine and The Clan released their first single ‘Yes I Do’ in 1963 and Pete recently performed this song with The Tall Faces in front of a packed out auditorium at the Stockport Plaza as part of ‘The Stockport Music Story’ celebration concert.

Also performing with The Tall Faces is Ali Dickinson, who’s been a supporter of the Stockport blues scene since the late ’90’s performing guest vocals with Acropolis Now who had a residency at The Boar’s Head. Ali is a regular face at The Spinning Top Blues Jam where her talent was spotted by fellow musicians and she was asked to join a rock and roll outfit called 90 Proof who are well-known on the local music scene for their high energy adrenaline-fuelled performances. Laszlo Baby

Photograph of Laszlo Baby

Hailing from Eastern Stockport, Lazlo Baby bring you Balkanic folksy ska with high octane exuberance. Whilst dabbling in the delights that klezmer, gypsy and trad Irish music have to offer, Lazlo Baby stitch together pounding melodies that'll clobber you with their enthusiastic brouhaha! Lazlo Baby are Dave - accordion, guitar and vocals, Sid - bass, guitar and vocals, Jip - clarinet, sax, whistle and vocals, Jon - drums and vocals, Adrianne - cello and Dom - fiddle.

Lazlo Baby began to play their twist of folk-punk-ska in 2010 with a single goal – to have fun and have great experiences. In the early days they ran a regular Acoustic Soup night for local bands and artists, which gave them ample opportunity to perform and explore new tunes and sounds, melding trad folk into their own material.

Fourteen years on and counting, they have played at numerous enjoyable events including Kendal Calling, Beat Herder, Just So Festival, Northern Green Gathering, Gobefest (the UK’s only Transylvanian music festival), New Mills Festival, Off the Tracks, Rustic Fest… But more to the point the Lazlos have made great friendships long the way and had an absolute blast.

Lazlo Baby just love the festival scene – energising audiences by blending European and Irish folk traditions with dollops of ska and punk. Alongside our festival they are oft found playing at other beer festivals, charity gigs, parties and folk clubs.

Performance Times:

  • First set - 3.00pm - 3.45pm
  • Second set - 4.00pm - 4.45pm

Crème Brûlée

Photograph of Crème Brûlée

Crème Brûlée are a five-piece party band from Manchester who love to play the songs you want to dance to.

Crème Brûlée started in 2016 as “The Groomsmen” when bass player James was planning his wedding and realised that four of his groomsmen - his brother, Ben (guitars & vocals), Rick (keyboards, guitars & vocals), Scott (guitars & backing vocals), and Pete (their first drummer) were all experienced musicians. A plan was formed to create a band so that he could fulfil his dream of... playing at his own wedding!?

As bizarre a dream as that was, it was so much fun to play music together at a party, that they decided they’d like to get together regularly to do it some more! And so Crème Brûlée was born! In 2023, they welcomed the very talented Jack on drums.

Crème Brûlée love what they do because it’s easy to know if they're doing a good job by how full the dance floor is! They’ve spent the last seven years honing an eclectic repertoire from 60s classics right up to present-day pop so that they can play something for everyone and help to create a fantastic atmosphere. They love to help people celebrate; performing for birthdays, weddings, private parties, and you might even catch them playing to a pub crowd now and then!

If you were wondering, the name of the band is a reference to a TV show we all loved in the early 2000s. If you know, you know. As Les McQueen would say, "It’s a sh*t business"... (but they’re glad they’re in it!).

Performance Times:

  • First set - 7.00pm - 7.45pm
  • Second set - 8.00pm - 9.00pm
