The Festival Charity - Stockport CP Society

Positive about Independence.

The 2019 Stockport Beer Festival Charity is Stockport CP Society. The Society is all about making a real difference to the lives of children, young people and adults with learning and/or physical disabilities.

This year is a big one for the charity as they are celebrating their 65th year of supporting those people and helping them to make the most of their lives. The Society achieves this by helping up to 700 service users to take part in a wide range of activities designed to help them to develop their skills and independence.

The services range from Day Support both within the community and through Skills Group provisions, to taking part in stimulating sporting and leisure activities.

The Society’s services also bring valuable respite for carers.

“The service give us a chance of respite from ‘caring’, gives us time to unwind and relax, whilst knowing our child is being well cared for and having fun”.

In addition to supporting service users and their carers, the Society offers great employment opportunities for anyone seeking a fulfilling role in health and social care as well as options to build skills through volunteering by taking part in support or fundraising activities.
